In the second phase of bicycle distribution to class 8th girls of 06 nos Zilla Parishad High Schools, NTPC Ramagundam, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme distributed 108 nos bicycle on 13th December, 2022. 109 nos bicycles were distributed in the first phase on 17th October 2022.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest, Shri Prasenjit Pal, Chief General Manager, Telangana Project said that NTPC Ramagundam is committed to the development of the community at large and educating the girl child is the topmost priority.

“We believe that education is fundamental to development. This initiative was envisaged to facilitate mobility of the girl students and would also contribute to their physical fitness”, he added.

He also addressed the commuting problems faced by the girls who travel long distances to reach school. “This initiative would ensure their retention in schools and make them self-reliant, thereby improving their overall performance”, he further added.

In the event, the school headmasters and teachers extended their gratitude to NTPC Ramagundam for contributing to the development of the village and addressing the needs of the students.

NTPC Ramagundam CSR officials mentioned that the bicycle distribution in the remaining schools of the project-affected villages shall also be covered phase-wise.

Office bearers of the Union and Association were also present at the occasion along with the teachers and supporting staffs of 06 Zilla Parishad High School.
